  • Effectively communicates and partners with other teams to ensure correct storage system configuration and prevent problems in physical and virtual environments
  • Configure and monitor replication and mirroring. Audit system configuration and logs to ensure data integrity and security
  • Provide technical insight and support for the evaluation, selection, and implementation of hardware and software to ensure the integrity of the system, adherence to industry and company standards, and the consistent application of technology.
  • Engage appropriate vendor support personnel when issues arise
  • Able to effectively manage multiple activities at the same time and consistently follow up with any outstanding issues
  • Tier storage pool management and proficiency with SAN/NAS technologies and protocols – ISCSI, NFS, Fiber, Replication, RAID, Snapshots, Lun Management, allocation and compression
  • Work to provide disaster recovery services as it relates to storage needs, participate in disaster recovery exercises
  • Keep proper documentation, based on current company standards, for all assigned systems and processes
  • Assist with the planning, design, development, and budgeting of system development projects as required
  • Act as an escalation resource for company service desk personnel
  • Provide 24X7 support of enterprise storage environment

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 3 or more years hands on experience administering a medium to large storage environment
  • 3 or more years hands on experience administering a medium to large Windows or Linux environment
  • Demonstrable expertise within many of the following:
  • O/S: Data OnTap, Microsoft Windows Server, RedHat Linux
  • Products: Network Appliance, Legato Networker, Data Domain, Exagrid, EMC VNX, SnapManager, Avamar

  • 3 years hands-on experience managing a Unix/Linux-based environment in a large commercial three tiered website environment.
  • Demonstrable expertise with many of the following technologies:
  • Languages: Java, HTML, XML, PHP, Perl
  • O/S: Unix/Linux, Windows Server 2003/3008
  • Webservers: Apache, IIS
  • Databases: Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL
